This Week's Obsession: Caramels

Friends, I don’t know if you know this about me, but I can make a mean caramel.

Salted caramel squares and caramel chocolates (I snacked on one as a sacrifice to show you what's inside #Selfless)

I’m talking like conversations stop when I serve this stuff (and not just because their mouths are glued shut). I was awarded the highest grade in my class when I took my caramel test in pastry school. I used to make a salted caramel brownie that was so divine that I once had someone buy the whole tray of brownies out of my display case. #FeatherInMyCap

I only bring up this particular skill of mine because April 5 is National Caramel Day and I whipped up a small batch of caramels to celebrate. Truth be told, I made these for myself because now is the time to stress eat if there ever was one, and I honestly cannot stop stuffing my face with these babies.

Now I have to admit that I haven't been baking like everyone expects me to right now. My job is rolling full steam ahead plus extra (I do realize how incredibly blessed I am in that aspect, don't get me wrong) which doesn't leave me with much energy (or time) to make delectable concoctions to dangle in front of you in blog form.

But, I have had all of you in mind and I've put together something I think you'll enjoy, even if it's not pastry related. I’ve been stockpiling memes from the brilliant minds of the internets who have created some zesty morsels of entertainment. I wanted to share some of my favorites with all of you today (and I promise to eventually give you tidbits about making caramels, I promise!). I even organized them by category for you, too!

Sorry I didn't have much to say about baking this week. My heart isn't in it right now, but I hope you enjoyed all these memes, articles, and videos that have given me a laugh recently.
